We're still HERE!

Well, we have now been in Missouri for a year! I never would have thought... Oh well, I guess it's okay since Ken has a job (well, sometimes!). He hasn't been working a whole lot since the end of the year. I hope it picks up or he finds something else.

So I don't know if I mentioned we got a dog. We got him the very end of April down in Joplin, MO. As you can tell, Hunter loves his Rusty! He is so happy to have a puppy even though he misses Shadow still! We can at least fill a little bit of the void.

Smelling the flowers in May, at the LDS Church Visitors Center.

Rusty's Haricut before going to Utah for 4th of July!
We took a trip to Hanna, UT to see Ken's family for the 4th of July. It was so nice to see eveyone, and Hunter had a great time sleeping in a tent and sleeping bag for the first time, not that he stayed in his own bag the whole night, eveynight we were there! Oh well, we had tons of fun. We really miss our families!

Our little family!

On the way back from UT, we of course stopped in Colorado. In Cortez, Ken got his other truck so he could possibly sell it in Missouri. We had fun driving by our house and seeing family. Wish we could have seen a few friends, but that's the way it goes. Next stop was in Aurora to see my family. My mom, who was diagnosed with cancer the day we were driving to Missouri, was in the hospital. We got to see her there. Then since Ken had his own truck, Hunter and I stayed a couple extra days to be with my mom. She loved being able to see Hunter and I. And we loved being able to help her out.
Hunter was sure tired and fell asleep eating Cheerios grama Roxy gave him!

We went to the Museum and had fun! Hunter dressed up in the Astronaut uniform, then didn't want to leave.
At the Zoo, growling like a bear!

Before we left to go back to MO, I got to see my Grandma Phillips and her fiance' (now her husband).

We were almost to Kansas City, and the truck just quit! I pushed on the gas, and it went slower, WHAT? So we got to sit in the hot truck, no a/c, windows down (loud cars and trucks driving by) and wait like an hour until a tow truck showed up. We then had it towed to Cabela's and Ken and Kip (his boss) showed up to check it out and see what was wrong. Then it worked fine for him. again WHAT?
To this day, Hunter will mention the truck being on a tow truck, lol. Hope it doesn't happen again!

Well, that's it for today. I will try and catch up more in the next couple of days. Enjoy!

This was back in Bloomfield, Iowa. I was inside doing dishes and Hunter went outside. A couple minutes later I heard him calling for me and I said just a minute. Well, it was a couple of minutes later and he was really quite, so I thought maybe he had wandered off. So I hurried outside and couldn't find him. I looked in the bike trailer and there he was asleep. He had even buckled himself in. Apparently he buckled and couldn't get out and that was when he was calling for me, and while waiting he fell asleep! He loves riding in the trailer. Thank you Katie Ripplinger for letting us use it!!

Back in Missouri

Well, almost 2 weeks ago we ended up back in Missouri. We are staying in a town called Grain Valley. It's 20 minutes away from Independence where we have stayed before, but the other RV park was full when we needed to move. We were supposed to be here 4 days and we have now been here a week and a half. It has rained on us quite a bit since we've been here, so it's wet and not much to do in the rain. This place has a pool, though and we have taken Hunter a couple of times and he just loves it. They also have a playground that he always wants to go to, when it's not raining. I took him to the zoo last week and got poured on! That part was not fun. I will post pics as soon as time allows! Hope all of you following our blog enjoy! Keep in touch!

Welcome to Iowa!
Our welcome to Iowa was in Bloomfield. After passing the entrance to the campground almost twice, we were greeted with MUD. We pulled in to the campround and since the rain had started, the campround was having trouble with some of their power hookups, so we had to wait a few minutes to find out the spots that had power. After this was done, Ken tried to park the 5th wheel, which in turn got stuck in the mud. He had to tow the grey truck and 5th wheel out with his work truck. This not only happened once, but twice! We were up to our ankles in mud where the trailer was concerned (Hunter's knees!!!). We finally changed spots and had better luck. It only took us over an hour to just park the trailers! Talk about crazy.

When Ken tried to park the cargo trailer, the orange leveling blocks just sank under the muddy water to where I couldn't see the first one anymore.

Independence, MO

We stayed at the Campus Rv Park the couple of times that we have been there. This is a picture of the 1st time. The spiral in the backgound is the Community of Christ "The Temple" (used to be the RLDS church, then changed their name.)
For church, all we had to do was walk down the hill to the right, not in the picture, and there was the church building. Talk about convienience! The 1st time we stayed there, it was too cold and wet to walk, though. The last time we were there, it was a lot nicer weather!

Hunter golfing on the hill across from out trailer. Aunt Jo would be so proud!

So, here I am again getting behind on letting you know what's going on in our part of the world. After our 1st week in Missouri, we moved up to Trenton, about 2 hours NE of Independence. We were only planning on being there a week, but you know how things go.... Sabrina and Hunter actually were only there for one week and then we went back to Colorado to pack up the house for our renters to move in. We were gone 2 weeks in Cortez and then another week in Aurora with Sabrina's family. After we got back to Trenton, MO, we were there another week or so. We love the families that we have met in Missouri!

We then moved back to Independence, for 3 weeks and Ken was doing work at his boss' shop until he found out where we were going next. During that time in Independence, we adopted a 3 month old Shih Tzu puppy! He is the cutest little guy! We named him Rusty and Hunter is soooo happy to have him around and is so helpful with taking care of him, along with the fish we got a few weeks prior. I don't happen to have his piture on this computer, so I will upload as soon as I get to it..hehe.

After Independence, we moved back to Trenton, for what we thought would be 3 days. I decided to surprise my mom for Mother's day and Hunter and I went back to Colorado for a week. During that time we went to Cortez and Sabrina got her braces off - yeah!! When we got back to Trenton, MO we went to church the next day, then moved on up to Bloomfield, Iowa.
